A Little About me

After being born and raised in Nevada, and traveling the country for the whole of my twenties, my family and I choose Washington, specifically Pierce County, as the place to plant roots and stay awhile! We have lived in the Lake Tapps area since 2018, and are thankful for the beautiful place get to call home.

During my traveling years, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University in Bakersfield. I spent my professional years before having children working with at-risk and incarcerated youth in a variety of residential placement settings, both as a direct care and middle management. Most impactful was the time I spent working in outdoor experiential education programs in North Carolina, Florida, and New Hampshire.

Life seemed to changed drastically after meeting my husband! I found myself in the unexpected roll of Navy wife, supporting his vision of patriotism. During this time I helped to reestablish the Family Readiness Group (FRG) for the USS Shoup (DDG 86) which provided a lifeline of community support during his service, particularly deployment.

After leaving the Navy, we moved from Everett to the Lake Tapps with our two boys. As primarily a stay-at-home mom, I’ve been able to follow my passions and do a lot of volunteering! I am an active participant in my children’s school community, serving on the PTA board and as the Book Fair Committee Chair. I also currently serve as the 31st LD Democrat’s representative on the Washington State Democratic Central Committee and am an elected PCO.

Last November, in my first professional political work I was the field organizer for the Sumner-Bonney Lake School Bond, which was the largest school bond measure in Washington State history to pass! And now I volunteer on the Oversight Committee for that bond measure helping to ensure transparency in the process.

In my ever shrinking free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, camping of all kinds, long distance swimming adventures, and reminding everyone to vote!
