I’m running for the Washington State Senate in the 31st Legislative District because our communities deserve representation that shows up, listens, and works for everyone who calls this district home.

The 31st is changing. Families are being priced out, traffic and infrastructure are straining under rapid growth, and our schools are asked to do more with less every year. At the same time, too many people feel unheard; or worse, are afraid to speak up. We deserve leadership that cares deeply about middle-class families, invests in education, and takes rural infrastructure seriously without continuing to rely on regressive tax policies that place the heaviest burden on working people.

I’m a mom, an organizer, and a long-time community volunteer. I’ve lived all over this country, worked with young people in crisis, supported military families, and spent the last decade deeply rooted here in the Lake Tapps area raising my two boys. Like many families, we’ve navigated rising costs, limited infrastructure, and the challenges of accessing public spaces and reliable transportation. These aren’t abstract policy debates to me – they’re lived experiences.

I care deeply about:

  • Affordability for middle-class families so people can stay in the communities they love.

  • Fully funding public education, because our kids deserve better than constant budget shortfalls.

  • Investment in rural infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and transportation solutions that match our growth and climate reality.

I believe we can make these investments responsibly without continuing to rely on tax systems that hit working families the hardest.

What has moved me most – and ultimately pushed me to say yes to this moment – are the conversations I’ve had at doors, community events, and our local 31st District booth. Again, and again people have told me how relieved they are to see Democrats willing to show up here. This campaign is about reminding people they are not alone; it’s about building community power that lasts beyond one election.

I’m proud to have the support and endorsements of local elected officials, including State Representative Kristine Reeves (30th LD). Representative Reeves’ leadership, integrity, and commitment to working families embody the kind of public service I believe in, and I’m honored to have her support as we launch this effort together.

This year I’m transitioning from primarily being a stay-at-home parent to fully reentering the workforce. I can’t think of a more meaningful way to step back into public life than by fighting for the future of the place my family calls home. I’m ready to represent the full 31st District with honesty, compassion, and determination.
